Are you kidding? Football's so big here in Ester that we have our own league! So who cares if the beer freezes and you have to wear bunny boots?
GIven the fun these folks seem to be having, I wonder why it's not THE most popular sport in Alaska. Great photo...
And a very good reason it is too.
Gee, the New England Patriots, the Green Bay Packers and others use it to their advantage to punish wimps from Louisiana, Texas and Florida in November and December. Makes for more interesting games with multiple fumbles, broken arms and legs and other injuries, too.
It sure looks like they are having great fun...I love your blog! Thanks for keeping in touch. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to visit Bethel soon.
